These light weight Himalayan hemp sun hats have been tailored in Nepal using a hand spun and hand woven fabric. The hand spun thread creates a timeless and uneven character with a rustic charm. Harvesting, retting and the hand spinning of the fibres is all done by villagers of the Himalayan foothills in much the same way that it has been done for centuries. A soft cotton is stitched inside for the lining.
To provide rigidity and allow shaping of the hat, there’s a metal wire within the outer edge of the wide brim hat and a plastic wire provides only rigidity in the brim of the bucket hat. These great sun hats can be packed flat which makes them ideal for travelling and those holidays in the sun. To help them last for many summers to come, the wire shouldn’t be folded.
