In the Japanese Edo period (1603-1868), people carried this style of pouch (kinchaku) on the waist belt of their Kimono. We continue this simple design with earthy fabrics, making them great for a multitude of uses for both guys and girls.
The main fabric for both pouches is a handspun & handloomed pure hemp.
The smaller pouch (42cm x 32cm) has a handloomed lining fabric woven with a few different shades of undyed linen. The lining in the larger pouch (50cm x 33cm) is a machine woven cotton.
The draw cords have been crochetted from linen and finished off with soapnut beads.
