Drawstring Kinchaku Pouch

£12.00

Simple draw string utility pouches that have been crafted from natural dyed hemp, cotton and linen.

Description

Ideal for carrying your daily essentials, travel items or valuables.

The coloured fabrics used for the outer are hand loomed from hemp cotton blended yarn after hand dyeing with natural raw materials. The lining fabrics are undyed in either a twill or plain weave. These raw dye materials have been used for both herbal medicines & dyes for centuries. The draw cord is hand crochet from linen thread and finished off with soap nut beads.

“Kinchaku” means “draw string pouch” in Japanese. In the Japanese Edo period (1603-1868), people carried this style of pouch on their Kimono’s waist belt. The simple design and earthy fabrics make these great for both guys and girls.
