🪡 DARNing 🧶

When you wear hand-knitted wool garments often and for many years, it is very natural that the yarn may break or loosen. This often leads to the creation of a small hole in the garment. If left unattended, the small holes inevitably become larger.

Sometimes, even newly made pieces can arrive to the U.K. with tiny holes. Whether a result of not being tied off at the end of production, a weak section of yarn or damage in storage or transit, these issues benefit from early detection and early repair.

For the pieces that need repair — and for our own sweaters — we have been learning darning through YouTube tutorials and practice. Over time, we have become able to repair simple holes and loose threads ourselves.

As sellers of wool garments, we sometimes feel it would be wonderful if Sorazora could offer a darning service, helping to nurture a cycle of care and longevity for the garments.

However, in reality we do not currently have the time nor the required skill to satisfactorily offer this service ourselves. If you are someone who feels they can offer occasional darning or knit repair services, we would be very happy to introduce you to Sorazora customers when needed.

Whether you are located nearby or elsewhere in the UK or Japan, it would be lovely to gradually build a small network of people who help keep these garments loved and worn for many years.

If this resonates with you, please feel free to contact us by email or say hello at the market.
